“All things work together for the good…”
“This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.”
Tim Blakeney Bio
Described by his fans as a “real life” rapper, Tim Blakeney began composing songs at the young age. In the wake of childhood tragedies, he used his notebook as a form of therapy. Uprooted from south central Mass to central Florida at fifteen, his diverse experiences and culture are clearly represented in his style of writing. Influenced by the likes of Nas, Big L, and many others, his lyrics and flow give his listeners hope that HipHop is alive and well.
At the age of nineteen Tim Blakeney’s music began to gain traction in Atlanta, GA receiving radio play and also in Orlando being nominated at the Orlando hip-hop awards for best mixtape of the year. However, his music career hit a roadblock when he was raided by Volusia County swat teams and sentenced to prison in Tallahassee Florida.
During his incarceration, he took time to self-reflect and assess the path his life was headed down mentally and spiritually. It was then that he had a change of heart and decided to walk away from his record deal in Atlanta and reinvent himself as an artist, but more importantly as a man. Many of his peers thought he was crazy considering the opportunity he was giving up, but he didn’t care. He had purposed in himself that he would rather struggle financially as a laborer than to sell his soul to make it in the music industry- a choice he does not regret.
Although Tim Blakeney stopped releasing music publicly, he continued to write and grow as an artist, perfecting his craft while adding to his skillset learning to play piano and guitar.
Over a decade later, Tim Blakeney is back in his hometown in Massachusetts, where he resides with his loving wife and their four beautiful children. He has established a career and worked his way up in the fire protection industry, currently working as a foreman in the Local 550 Sprinkler Fitters Boston. But now he is ready to translate the physical fire protection trade into spiritual fire protection, using his musical gifts and talents to shine light in a world that grows darker every day. Inspired by the ancient wisdom of his faith, Tim is back in the studio out in Boston recording his new debut album ‘Boston Rat Race Armageddon’, set to release in 2023, Lord willing.
Compelled to inspire with powerful music, Tim is showing the world that regardless of how hopeless things may seem, there is always a way to get back home. Music is his vehicle. Take a ride with him.
